After leaving our friends in Chincha, we headed to Pisco to meet new Rotarians. First we were greeted by the club president, Maria Elena. Then we visited a school in Pisco where we got to tour several classrooms and talk with the students. We were able to give out presents to the students and talk to them about who we were and they got to practice some of their English with us. This school is different than ours in the US, because they have their students come in two shifts during the day.
Next we headed to lunch at a local restaurant and meet new Rotarian friends, Blanca and Martin. After lunch, Blanca and Maria Elena took us to visit another school. At this school we had lots of time to talk to the students during their recess time and they had lots of funny questions for us. These included questions about TV shows and different questions about what we do in the US.
Next we went to the market for the first time and we were able to see some local produce that they sell there. After resting in our hostel for a short time, we then headed to the Pisco Rotarian club meeting. This was hosted graciously by Romy at her home. We were served an excellent dinner and made many new friends.
