Today Hugo, Susan’s host family and a Rotarian, took us to La Joya. La Joya which is about an hour outside of Arequipa is a small community. Once we arrived we got to visit the mayor’s office and learn some information about this town.
Next Hugo took us to Sambambia Hotel where we got to relax for the day. They had a pool, which we enjoyed very much. We also played soccer, ate lunch, played Sapo (the Peruvian version of washers), played pool, and ping-pong. We enjoyed relaxing and the beautiful weather. We also enjoyed the company of Hugo and another Rotarian Arturo.
In the evening we had another Rotary meeting. They hosted us at a Karaoke Bar where we got to enjoy live music and a little bit of dancing. It was a great way to end the day.
