We left Arequipa early to head to Colca Canyon Valley. It took us about 5 hours on a tour bus to make it to Colca Canyon, but we got to stop several times to take photos and see different types of animals along the way. We drove to a higher altitude and it is absolutely gorgeous along the trip. Also along our trip we got to see some local stands and buy some souvenirs for our friends and family at home.
Once we arrived in Colca Canyon we ate lunch at a restaurant then we were able to walk around and visit local shops and take in this little village. Jennifer and Susan then went to take a swim in the hot springs. They enjoyed the warm water and sunny skies very much. Bridgett, Christa, and I walked around the village exploring different shops and talking to some local people.
We then went to a Pena dinner at a local restaurant. We got to eat dinner with our new friends that were on the tour with us. We also got to hear some local musicians and see different types of local dancers.
